This out-and-back hike starts at Emosson and follows the gentler 4×4 road toward Vieux-Emosson, offering spectacular high-altitude scenery with reservoirs, dramatic peaks and alpine panoramas. Important: this route description uses ONLY the 4×4 road approach. Do not follow the alternative route through the Gorges de la Veudale, which includes steeper passages and chains and is not recommended for walkers with a fear of heights.
